The professional training arm of the NCT
NCT Professional Training runs workshops designed for health professionals involved in maternity, neonatal and postnatal services.
Workshops can be delivered on an in-house, hosted, or delegate basis, to suit health professionals' needs. All of our workshops are designed and delivered by experts in their field.
Workshop aims and learning outcomes are clearly defined, published and adhered to so that health professionals can feel confident they are attending the right course.

NCT Professional Training Courses
- help you feel more confident in running your antenatal and postnatal classes, leading groups and working one-to-one.
- are designed to be interactive with lots of delegate participation.
- offer health professionals the opportunity to discuss differing experiences and to learn from peers as well as from the leader/facilitator.
- are run by tutors with many years experience as antenatal educators and breastfeeding tutors and also train our students for the NCT/University of Bedfordshire Diploma and BA Antenatal Education courses.
- are held across the UK and Eire, and have also been arranged in Germany for forces personnel.
- can be 'tailor-made' to suit specific training needs.
- are designed to enhance consultancy and partnership and are working towards service improvement for NHS Trusts, PCTs, PCGs, Sure Start projects, service teams, universities and other educational bodies.
In-house Workshops
Workshops can be developed on a tailored, in-house basis, whereby attendance is restricted to your own staff/colleagues, or any people from other healthcare organisations that you may wish to invite. We will work together with you to develop a programme which sets out the aims and objectives you are trying to achieve.

Hosting a Workshop
To host a workshop, all you need is to be able to provide a suitable training room which holds up to 20 people comfortably and have access to a flipchart and video. We will offer you one free place on the workshop in exchange, which is open to anyone to attend. All advertising, refreshments and other costs of the workshop will be paid by the NCT.
The only cost for you, therefore, is for any further participants.
